Employment effects of activation policies for UB II recipients: Lone mothers benefit most from further vocational training

Abstract

"This study examines effects of participating in active labor market programs for lone mothers receiving Unemployment Benefit II in Germany. Findings are that lone mothers profit quite strongly from further vocational training programs in terms of taking up contributory employment. Effects of short class-room training programs are somewhat weaker. In the case of One-Euro-Jobs, some groups of lone mothers profit, while others do not." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
