Aktivitäten deutscher Unternehmen in der Tschechischen Republik

Abstract

"This article deals with the linkages of German enterprises with the Czech economy and presents findings an the growing integration between the two countries. On the basis of analyses of foreign trade statistics and a register of firms made available by the German/Czech Chamber of Industry and Commerce it can be concluded that the accession of the Czech Republic to the EU in 2004 was only one of several cornerstones in a long-lasting process. Thereby, manufacturing as well as trading and services play an important role. The capital City of Prague and border regions dose to Germany are involved at an above average rate in cross-border economic activities. Since the fall of the Iron Curtain, economic relations continuously deepened, which should be further boosted by the forthcoming labour market liberalisation." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
