Betriebliche Weiterbildung und die Beschäftigung älterer Arbeitnehmer

Abstract

"This paper examines the relationship of firm-provided training and employment of older workers using unique linked-employer-employee data of the Institute for Employment Research in Nuremberg. Using OLS-regressions, we analyze the relationship between training and employment growth of older workers on the firm level. We also estimate piecewise constant exponential hazard models at employee level to investigate the correlation of training and employment-duration of older workers. The findings support the theoretical considerations for East Germany. Furthermore, we detect unexpected but reasonable effects for older employees in West Germany."
