Labour market institutions: Well serviced to the stress test
Abstract
"In Autumn 2009 the German labour market still showed itself surprisingly little affected by the worldwide recession. Employment protection, flexible working time models, short-time work and other stabilizers seemed to be working. Having said that, the longer the economic crisis lasts, the closer they will get to their limitations. That is when institutions like unemployment insurance come under pressure. Will they be able to take the strain? Is repair necessary?" (Authors' abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
