Interrelationships in the welfare state : the dynamics of social adjustment processes

Abstract

"Against the background of a fundamental transformation of the German welfare state, a new adjustment of the rights and duties of the subject and the state is taking place. The current processes of change are characterised by the continuing high relevance of gainful employment that is becoming increasingly more badly paid, the erosion of the model of the male family bread-winner, and the implementation of activation paradigms in many areas of the social state. The articles in this collection examine the changes in the relationship between institutions, subjects and ways of production that result from this. The studies take a well-grounded look at the changes in the welfare state from both a theoretical and an empirical point of view and open up new perspectives on current socio-political transformations and their concrete forms via various actors, both male and female."
