Interim Report on the IAB Labour Market Projection 2009 and 2010.
Abstract
"The latest published IAB projection on the labour market of march 2009 (Bach et al., IAB Brief Report 6/2009) was founded on the assumption that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would shrink by 3.5 per cent. Furthermore, it did not yet include an outlook on 2010. With an update outside the regular cycle, the IAB explains why, in spite of the worsened conditions of growth with a decrease in real GDP by 6 per cent, its current predictions of employment and unemployment can essentially be maintained. The now established first outlook on 2010 is based on growth predictions from a common diagnosis of German economic research institutes (-.5 percent) and of the federal government (+.5 per cent)."
