Labor market integration of refugees: Improved institutional settings promote employment
Abstract
"Various institutional barriers like asylum processes, employment restrictions, and residency obligations impede refugees' labor market integration, particularly in the early periods of their stay. Over time, however, according to analyses based on the IAB-BAMF-SOEP Survey of Refugees, these obstacles diminish. Language and additional integration programs also support integration into the labor market. As a result, the employment rate for refugees who arrived in 2015 has increased to nearly two-thirds by 2022." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
