Migration, integration, and the labor market after the recession in Germany
Abstract
"This case study examines the global economic crisis, how it has affected the German labor market, and why the impact of the recession has been so small. It analyzes the impact of the crisis on the labor market integration of migrants and on their employment and unemployment. It also discusses policy reactions to the recession and, looking towards the future, recommends how policymakers might address the structural barriers faced by migrants in the labor market."
