Die Europäische Beschäftigungsstrategie für Ältere
Abstract
"The European Employment Strategy (EES) has attracted much attention in recent policy research. One of the reasons for this is that it is considered to be the most prominent application of a new governance mode, the Open Method of Co-ordination (OMC). Until now, the debate has focused mainly on the functioning of the EES and the OMC. In this article, attention is turned towards one of the current priority actions of the Lisbon Strategy, namely 'responding to globalisation and ageing'. We analyse the concepts and procedures that the EES has developed in order to promote active ageing. The results in this particular policy field allow conclusions to be drawn on the development of the EEC in general." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
