Western German reintegration subsidies und the length of employment at one establishment
Abstract
"Wage subsidies are a major instrument of active labor market policies in Germany. This paper analyses for West Germany, if tenure differs across individuals taking up a subsidized or unsubsidized job, respectively, during the second quarter of 2003. The study is based on process generated data of the German Federal Employment Agency. Cox estimations indicate a significant positive relationship between subsidy receipt and tenure, the risk of ending an employment relationship is in particular lower during the time of subsidization and the subsequent statutorily regulated period of employment. However, no significant differences between men and women could be established." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
