Has the effect of limit values in German labor law been underestimated so far?

Abstract

"Threshold regulations in German labour law: Has their impact been underestimated? Many regulations in German labour law apply only above a certain employer size. There are well over 100 such threshold regulations, and the relevant employer size is often calculated in very different ways. This article shows the differences in the threshold calculation, discusses previous research on threshold effects, and provides theses to explain the ambiguous evidence. A standardised approach could reduce bureaucracy and make it easier to identify threshold effects empirically." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku, © Duncker & Humblot) ((en))
