Abstract

"On January 12, 2026, the Committee for Labor and Social Affairs of the German Bundestag held a public hearing on the two proposals “Reform the Minimum Wage Act – Ensure 15 Euro per Hour” and “Raise the Minimum Wage to 15 Euro and Make it Permanently Poverty-Proof,” in which the IAB participated. In its statement, the IAB discusses the scientific evaluation results on the statutory minimum wage and assesses the proposals for reforming the Minimum Wage Act."
