Vocational rehabilitation for people with disabilities: Increasing Integration, but decreasing number of recipients
Abstract
"This report focuses on vocational rehabilitation (VR) for adults with disabilities and chronic health limitations financed by the Federal Employment Agency from 2015 to 2022. The number of those starting a VR has been declining significantly for several years. The structure of the VR population changes. Fewer women and fewer people receiving unemployment benefits and especially basic income support enter VR. More and more employed people are being promoted. Corresponding to that, a growing population of people with musculoskeletal disabilities can be observed while people with psychological illnesses constantly remain the second largest group. Over the years, employment rates after VR increase; more and more people remain employed or find new employment. However, not everyone benefits to the same extent."
