The QuBe Project: Models, Modules, Methods. Update 2025

Abstract

"Since 2007, the QuBe project researches the future development of the labour market and its consequences. This reader presents the assumptions, data and the basis of the projections used in the QuBe project. Projections about the development of the labour market result from the observation of the past and what is currently considered as trend-setting. The theoretical and empirical foundations are important in order to correctly understand and appropriately interpret projections as pure calculation models. Since their initial publication, the QuBe projections have been updated at regular two-year intervals. The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) are in charge, with the assistance of the Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftliche Strukturforschung mbH (GWS)."
