Erste Ergebnisse der neuen BA-BIBB-IAB-Bewerberstudie: Erfahrungen bei der Berufsorientierung machen den Unterschied
Abstract
"Data of the current BA-BIBB-IAB Applicants' Study show that people that look for an apprenticeship position and broke contact with the Federal Employment Agency (BA) during their search are – just as are young refugees – less likely to take up a course of education that qualifies them for a job. While the outcomes for both groups are somewhat comparable, the reasons for these outcomes are not. For those breaking contact with the BA, disadvantages prevail even after controlling for structural differences. In contrast, for refugees the differences to the rest of the population largely disappear once structural factors as e.g. school certificates and regional characteristics are controlled for. Therefore, e.g. measures allowing to catch up on school certificates might be particular useful for this group." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
