Regional Labour Market Forecasts 2024/2025: Little prospect of recovery in regional labour markets

Abstract

"The weak economic development has continued for three years and is now more visible in the labour market. Employment subject to social security contributions is declining in some federal states and especially in rural areas. Unemployment is expected to increase everywhere. On the basis of the IAB labour market forecasts for Germany, in this IAB Brief Report (IAB-Kurzbericht) we provide forecasts for the federal states and the labour market districts."
