Abstract

"The Federal Government has presented a comprehensive draft of a law to modernise unemployment insurance and employment promotion (SGB III Modernisation Act), which was discussed in a public hearing on the SGB III Modernisation Act in the Committee on Labour and Social Affairs of the German Bundestag on 4 November 2020. It deals with the further development of the placement process, simplifications and relief in insurance and benefit law, the adaptation of funding instruments and the expansion of the Federal Employment Agency’s funding instruments. With reference to existing research findings, the IAB comments on the planned changes to SGB III and SGB II." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
