Dual vocational training in the skilled crafts sector: More and more VET graduates continue working in their training occupation

Abstract

"Based on data from various chambers of skilled crafts and the IAB on three cohorts of training graduates, the development of dual vocational training in the skilled crafts sector and the whereabouts of its graduates is analysed. In comparison to the graduation cohorts of the years 2014 and 2017, the graduates of the cohort 2020 are more frequently employed and less frequently unemployed after completing their training. At the same time, the graduates of the 2020 cohort remain longer and more often in their training company and occupation than was the case with the two earlier cohorts."
