Physische und psychische Gesundheit in deutschen Betrieben

Abstract

"This report addresses individual health and well-being of employees in Germany between 2013 and 2021. First, the development of selected health-related outcomes – general health, well-being, sick days, presenteeism – is presented. Subsequently, focusing on individual, occupational and establishment characteristics, structural correlations are examined descriptively. Finally, multivariate regression analyses are used to examine which factors actually impact health and well-being. Our findings indicate that firms also benefit from measures that aim at improving working conditions, promoting a good leadership culture and reducing presenteeism. Especially psychological stress factors in the work context and a health-promoting work organization should be specifically targeted. This can reduce health-related productivity losses and retain the health of the workforce in the long run." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
