The Social Labour Market. Selected Results of the Evaluation of the Participation Opportunities Act

Abstract

"In January 2019 the Participation Opportunities Act introduced two wages subsidies, Integration of Long-Term Unemployed People (Article 16e Social Code II) and Participation in the Labour Market (Article 16i Social Code II). Their goal is to integrate welfare benefit recipients that are hard to place into contributory employment and to enhance their social integration. The Institute for Employment Research studies the implementation of these programmes by job centres and firms and their effects on employability, social integration, employment status and welfare benefit receipt of the participants. The article discusses some key results of this evaluation." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku, © Duncker & Humblot) ((en))
