Abstract

"The aim of the Further Vocational Training Act is to extend the instruments of labour market policy for employees and vocational training seekers, to meet the challenges of accelerated transformation, to avoid unemployment related to structural change, to strengthen further vocational training and to ensure the skill level of the workforce, but also to take into account the objectives of the National Skills Strategy. In its statement, the IAB refers to the following aspects: Introduction of a qualification allowance, an educational (part-time) leave and a training guarantee, prolongation of the reimbursement of social security contributions in the case of further training during short-time work, vocational orientation internship, mobility allowance, introductory qualification, and vocational training in firm-external institutions."
