Work-Life-Balance und Chancengleichheit
Abstract
"Little information exists about the influence of statutory framework provisions on the improved compatibility of work and family on operational work processes. It is also unclear how and to what extent companies are involved in improving the compatibility of work and private life and what benefit they expect from it. Case studies show that companies often comply with the work hour requests of women who seek an interruption in their work and who then return to work without major problems. About every seventh company has definite agreements that go beyond the statutory provisions. Most of them refer to flextime. Direct childcare assistance is less frequent. Cost-benefit analyses as well as qualitative evaluations in companies show that the benefit of measures to make family and work more compatible exceed the required costs."
