Active labor market policies during the Covid-19 pandemic: Fewer entries, stable effects

Abstract

"In Germany, active labor market policies (ALMP) play an important role for the reintegration of the unemployed, and the Federal Employment Agency spends considerable resources on them. The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted established processes in this area as well. The authors show, for participants in the unemployment insurance system (SGB III), how entries in selected ALMP measures have developed since the outbreak of the pandemic. For the 2019 and 2020 entry cohorts, they also analyze how these measures have affected participants' employment prospects." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
