Structural change and further training. IAB Statement on the hearing at the German Council of Economic Experts on 13 October 2022

Abstract

"In preparation for the 2022/2023 annual report of the German Council of Economic Experts, the IAB was asked for its expertise on the relevance and development of further Training – particularly in connection with the technological and ecological transformation of the economy. Due to these structural changes, numerous additional skilled workers will be needed in the future on the one hand and certain jobs will be eliminated on the other. The findings that the IAB presented in this regard in autumn of 2022 are summarized in this statement." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
