Vacancies, applicants and newly signed contracts: Matching problems in the Vocational Education and Training market are further increasing during the Covid crisis

Abstract

"During the Covid crisis, changes in the dual Vocational Education and Training market have strengthened. The number of newly signed contracts was both in 2020 and 2021 pronouncedly smaller than in 2019. The team of authors analyses how the annual courses of the numbers of vacancies, applicants and matches registered at the Federal Employment Agency have changed during the Covid crisis. The evolution of these three quantities provides an indication for increasing matching problems in the Vocational Education and Training market." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
