Digitalisierung der Arbeitswelt - ein Messinstrument der NEPS-Erwachsenenbefragungen

Abstract

"This survey paper presents a new instrument measuring the digitization of work developed for the National Educational Panel Study. The survey items capture the subjectively assessed degree of digitization of a respondent’s workplace by asking how strongly a respondent is exposed to digital networked technologies and automation. Furthermore, survey questions measure perceived changes in the degree of digitization, resulting further training needs, perceived burdens and consequences due to dealing with digital networked technologies, as well as digitization-induced expectations of losing one’s job and of future employment opportunities. The survey items target currently employed adults. This survey paper presents a short overview of the new items’ theoretical background, their use in NEPS and results based on the NEPS starting cohort 6 conducted September 2019 to March 2020 (wave 12, SUF 12.0.1)."
