Labor Market Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Robust Employment, but Rising Unemployment of Migrants
Abstract
"The COVID-19 pandemic and the measures taken to contain it have had significant consequences for the labor market in Germany, for example in the form of short-time work, working from home, reduced working hours or even layoffs. Based on employment statistics and new survey data, the consequences of the crisis for refugees as well as other migrants are examined here in comparison to persons without a migration background."
