Subsidized training for employed workers: extended possibilities but still room for improvement

Abstract

"The so-called Qualifizierungschancengesetz expanded the possibilities for training subsidies for employees. Before its introduction on 1 January 2019, subsidized further training was limited to certain groups of employees. Since then, further training of employees in principle can be subsidized regardless of the qualification and age of the employee or of firm size. This report shows to what extent the augmented possibilities for training subsidies have changed the number of participants and their composition." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
