Beschäftigungsrelevanz des Handels mit dem Vereinigten Königreich: Exportabhängige Arbeitsplätze sind über Branchen und Regionen ungleich verteilt

Abstract

"In a referendum in 2016, a majority of UK voters were in favour of the UK leaving the European Union. This will probably lead to an exit from the European Single Market and the customs union, which in turn can have a detrimental effect on the German economy. In this report, we study how many jobs in Germany are directly and indirectly connected to exports to the UK and discuss the geographical and sectoral distribution of those jobs. Roughly 460.000 jobs in Germany are directly and indirectly related to exports to the UK, of those slightly over 60.000 belong to the motor vehicle industry. It should be noted, that jobs connected to exports are not necessarily jobs that will be lost following a potential reduction in exports." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
