Economic policy in crisis
Abstract
"Gross domestic product is expected to grow by only half a percent in 2019. Industry in particular is suffering due to the uncertainties related to the global trade conflicts and Brexit. There are doubts as to whether this will lead to a serious downturn. Conversely, a growth-oriented policy that addresses the upcoming climate, energy and transport challenges is feasible. Increasing public and private investment is indispensable for this. There are differing views, however, on the extent to which this should be linked to deficits in the national budget."
