Abstract

The Labor Share of total income has declined in recent decades both at the country level and at the sector and industry level. After documenting this negative trend at these economic levels and examining its possible causes, the question remains as to how these trends are reflected at the firm level. It may be that there has been a redistribution of revenue to companies with a low labor share and that the fall at the industry level happened without companies changing their individual labor share. The connection between the size of a company and its laboratory share is of particular importance.
