Abstract

This project deals with the question under which conditions employees see job offers during an unemployment spell as "acceptable" or not. To this end, we conduct a standardized online-survey. Using a factorial Survey approach ("vignette analysis") we describe fictitious job seekers who receive a job offer of different qualification level and monthly wage. Moreover, we vary the jobseekers' personal attributes like age and unemployment history. Theoretically, we also refer to some of the so-called "deservingness"-criteria. The project will provide insights into normative ideas on "acceptable" job offers.
