Abstract

One of several currently discussed ideas for better integration of economic and fiscal policies in the euro zone is the idea of a common unemployment insurance. An uUnemployment insurance acts as an automatic stabilizer and could, in principle,be a way to compensate for cyclical imbalances in Europe  .In the consulting project  the conceptual and political risks of such a transnational insurance are assessed and the hypothetical financial consequences on the basis of  simulations are calculated. Calculation and assessment are constantly updated according to the modification of the proposals from the European Commission.
