Unexpected transitions from social benefits to work
Project duration: 31.12.2014 to 29.12.2022
Abstract
This project investigates individual and structural factors that allow social benefits recipients with multiple labour market disadvantages to find employment that helps them to overcome their reliance on benefits. For this mixed-methods project, re-spondents from the PASS panel survey who have transitioned from basic income support to work in spite of multiple labour market disadvantages are sampled for qualitative interviews. Results from these interviews are fed back into the design of questionnaires for use in future waves of the PASS panel. The project is expected to generate important insights facilitating the development of strategies for integrating of the long-term unemployed with multiple labour market disadvantages.
