Project

Management practices, organizational behaviour and firm performance in Germany

Project duration: 31.12.2013 to 30.07.2017

Abstract

Empirical research has found substantial and persistent productivity differences between developed countries. A country’s productivity does not only depend on the productivity of each individual company but also on a variety of other factors. A new and very innovative strand of economic research, spear-headed by Nick Bloom (Stanford University) and John van Reenen (London School of Economics), has recently focused attention on the role of management and organizational practices (MOP) in order to explain the observed productivity differences. For Germany, there are currently no findings in this area because of missing data. Therefore, a new establishment survey is carried out within the project.
