Abstract

The project s main objective is to extend the current state of research on the regional distribution of benefits and burdens of the social security system in Germany. It aims at calculating the regional statutory incidence of the German system of unemployment insurance, the system of statutory pension insurance and the system of statutory health insurance. In the latter case a valid computation of the regional cash flows was restricted due to the limitations of the available data. The analysis was carried out covering the years 2004 and 2005. The regional level was the level of the German districts. Another aim of the project was to integrate the results into existing research frameworks covering the literature on the analysis of regional incidence.
