Abstract

As part of this research project, an measure for the search intensity/willingness of service recipients is to be collected and constructed or approximated. For this purpose, access numbers and lengths of stay of ALG-I recipients on a website that provides information on the labor market and job searches should be used. Potential study participants from the list of ALG-I recipients are contacted by post using random selection. The selected people first receive a cover letter containing the website's Internet address and a personalized access code. After entering the access code and corresponding consent, the activities of the study participants are logged on this website, linked to other data already available at the IAB and evaluated. Based on these evaluations, it will then be examined to what extent the development of search intensity over time corresponds more closely to the classic approaches of search theory or whether so-called reference-dependent models of job searches can better reflect reality.
