Abstract

Discussions on basic income support often focus on the question of integration from basic income support. However, this question is complex, as there are different types of integration. In this project, integrations from SGB II will be analyzed descriptively using data from the statistics of the Federal Employment Agency. We will not only analyze integrations as a whole, but also investigate whether and to what extent these integrations cover needs or are sustainable. Whether those eligible for basic income support who are capable of work are able to achieve integration also depends largely on their proximity to the labour market and their personal situation. We therefore differentiate in our observations according to the job placement status of the beneficiaries as well as their age, gender and the type of benefit community. With these descriptive analyses, we hope to deepen our knowledge of employment entries from basic income support.
