Bewertung des Bürgergelds und Einstellungen zu Sozialleistungen und deren Inanspruchnahme
Project duration: 01.01.2023 to 31.12.2025
Abstract
With the introduction of the reformed basic income ("Bürgergeld"), basic elements of the means-tested basic income system for job seekers (waiting period, reductions in benefits, cooperation plan, sustainable employment integration) will change. Social policy institutions and the associated (re)distribution Social acceptance plays a fundamental role in the design of welfare state benefits. The project aims to examine attitudes towards and acceptance of specific elements of Bürgergeld by those affected and the general working population. The IAB online panel “OPAL” serves as the data basis in which questions are placed in four waves for this project. Attitudes towards citizens' benefit and basic security benefits as a whole also represent a dimension for explaining individual utilization decisions. The project therefore also examines attitudes towards basic security benefits and benefits for employed people in a quasi-experimental manner. Vignette experiments are used to investigate how central design features of social benefits affect their acceptance and willingness to use them.
