German Atlas of Economic Complexity
Project duration: 01.07.2020 to 31.12.2024
Abstract
The German Atlas of Economic Complexity is based on the work of the Observatory of Economic Complexity (Datawheel) and the Atlas of Economic Complexity (Harvard Growth Lab) and aims to visualise the complexity and interconnectedness of the manufacturing sector at the level of German spatial planning regions on the basis of various data sources (including sectoral employment data and employees by occupational groups from the IAB, patent data from PATSTAT and information on the goods produced based on official company data in Germany). The combination of input and output indicators provides innovative insights into the geography and dynamics of economic activities in Germany.
