Project duration: 01.01.2022 to 31.12.2024

Abstract

This project investigates the short- and medium-term effects of the subsidized employment programs according to articles 16e and 16i of the Social Code II (§16e und §16i SGB II) on participants (up to two years after program entry). In particular, we focus on the outcomes unsubsidized contributory employment and receipt of benefits according to the Social Code II (unemployment benefit II). The analysis uses administrative individual-level data. The data base used for the analyses is an inflow sample of program participants, complemented by a control group of non-participants. The control group is composed of persons eligible for the program who do not enter the program within the period from which the participant sample is drawn. The analysis should also identify heterogeneous program effects for women and men residing, respectively, in East and West Germany, and potentially also for different age and education groups.
