WeLL survey data linked to administrative data of the IAB
Project duration: 01.11.2011 to 31.12.2014
Abstract
Within the project ‘WeLL-ADIAB’ (WeLL survey data linked to administrative data of the IAB) a unique linked employer-employee dataset with a particular focus on further training is established for analysing the determinants and consequences of further training in Germany. The WeLL-ADIAB data consist of survey data on employees that can be linked to survey information about their employers and to administrative data on the employment biographies as well as on the employers’ histories. The employee survey was conducted within the project “Further Training as a Part of Lifelong Learning” (Berufliche Weiterbildung als Bestandteil Lebenslangen Lernens, “WeLL”) and is designed as a longitudinal dataset with four waves from 2007 until 2010. The survey information on the employer level is taken from the IAB Establishment Panel. The administrative data came from the administrative processes of the BA, the local authorities responsible for administrating basic social security and from the social security notification procedure.
Within the project the data from the different sources are linked, prepared, documented and finally provided for researches via the Research Data Centre. Beyond that analyses according the data quality and bias are carried out.
