Abstract

This study reconsiders the rising wage inequality in West Germany over the past three decades. Building on the task-based approach we examine to which extent changes in occupation-specific tasks add to explain - besides other factors as structural changes of occupations, age or qualification - gender-specific increases in wage inequality.
