New register data from the German public employment service
Project duration: 01.01.2012 to 31.12.2013
Abstract
In this article we present new data on events of counseling and monitoring. We will describe the datas’ potential contribution to the evaluation of active labor market policy. Recent research has shown that the kind of data we present can play an important role in understanding effects of specific policy measures by providing insights into the black box of causal mechanisms. We present data on the timing of three crucial events during job search: invitations to meetings with the caseworker, individual action plans and vacancy referrals. Before presenting the data, we will briefly describe these events in the context of active labor market policy.
