Project

Social Networks in Staffing Processes

Project duration: 01.05.2008 to 31.10.2014

Abstract

Sociological as well as economic research is interested in the role of social networks in staffing processes. Empirical studies usually consider them as relevant from job seekers' point of view. But there is only little knowledge of firms’ perspective on this issue. To decrease this research gap analysis based on representative data from the German Job Vacancy Survey are used. The goal is to prospect what kind of firms use social networks for recruitment and what kind of posts they staff this way.
