Abstract
The Institute for Employment Research (IAB) analyses how the insolvency of the company "Schlecker" influences the processes of counselling and job placement which are the central tasks of the Federal Employment Agency (BA). The study focusses on the local organisation of these processes and how the placement officers evaluate the job prospects of the former employees of "Schlecker" and what job offers they can make. The underlying method is a qualitative interviewing of professionals in six different employment agencies.
