Project

Role of occupational interests in vocational choise

Project duration: 10.01.2025 to 31.10.2026

Abstract

Occupational interests are a useful construct for helping people decide on a career. Holland's RIASEC model is the most commonly used model and has long been employed in career guidance. Until now, extensive career choice tests have been carried out and career suggestions made with the support of career counsellors in order to identify good career alternatives. In this project, we want to develop a LLM-classification model based on occupational descriptions can be used to evaluate texts according to the ‘occupational types’ defined in Holland's RIASEC model. This should make it possible to analyse texts written by decision-makers and suggest suitable occupational alternatives accordingly.
