Abstract

The study examines the effects of immigration on the fiscal balance of the welfare state. This affects not only public budgets but also social security systems, including unemployment insurance. It also draws direct conclusions for the management of immigration of skilled workers and other labor, international and national job placement, and labor market and integration policy.
