Abstract

Automation and digitisation technologies increasingly perform tasks that could previously only be done by humans. This development has triggered scientific and public debates on the future of work. Due to lack of data, it is still unclear how automation and digitisation affect the labor market and challenges the future of work. Therefore, the IAB and the ZEW jointly use a newly created data set in order to answer these questions. The focus of this project is to study the adjustment margins of firms when adopting cutting-edge digital technologies.
