Abstract

The lockdown during the COVID 19 pandemic does not affect all workers equally. Above all, the possibility of working from home (home office) has far-reaching consequences, not only for the survival of the companies, but also for remaining in employment or avoiding short-time work. Due to the special exceptional situation, activities that were previously assumed to be difficult to carry out from home are now also carried out from home. As a result, previous assessments (surveys, but also expert assessments) as to whether (and to what extent) a job can be done from home are no longer (or no longer) valid. Against this background, data from BERUFENET on working conditions typically found in an occupation will be used in this project to develop a occupation-specific measure that allows statements to be made about the proportion of tasks that can be done from home (home office potential).
